@SeonaidBubs If there is no recovery partition you could boot from a linux live cd backup you data and reinstall using windows dvd.

@TBNRfrags you have to partition it with a special boot cd (preferrably Linux) so that windows can see it.

@Rigarmorty You could boot off a Linux USB (guessing the netbook doesn't have a CD) mount the local drive, and stand a chance at recovery.

@sjksanders do you have a recovery CD? Or can you boot from a USB stick with a simple linux distro on it to try and repair your hard drive?
