Ubuntu is a good start and has a Windows installer, but then it would be in a long line of variants, like Mythbuntu, Lubuntu, or Xubuntu.

@GranoblasticMan Yeah, but the kids are gonna be using it more then I, and they're more familiar with Lubuntu then Gentoo. :P

You know what? I think I'll just save time and effort on my spare Linux box by just installing Lubuntu instead of Gentoo.

MBR or GPT tables? this is a question that my #Lubuntu installer is hanging on and won't let me choose either. I want a "wtf ever" option.
