@Arlen Certainly. But, if Joomla uses conditional joins (only when needed) and gets rid of the category subqueries, it will help @nikosdion

@nikosdion Nah, it's not joining the assets table. That would have shocked me. The subqueries that verify category ACL are the asskickers.

@mcmcslp I think MQL is really elegant - joins & subqueries just come natural. Possible disadvantage is that some form of schema is required
