Take Tweetie and Tweetie 2, which is in the roots of Twitter for Mac. Could be a gorgeous, retina-ready, full-featured Mac app. But no. Ugh.

@jsnell Twitterfic was my first Mac & iOS client for Twitter, but I moved on soon after to Tweetie, then Echofon. Echofon's syncing is great
